SilverStar : In search of white

Its November 7th, and like many places in Canada this Fall, there is no Snow. Its the kind of weather that makes most people happy, but has skiers grinding there teeth in frustration. We wake up early this warm Friday morning. Bleary-eyed we pack our skis, and gear into the vans and without further ado we are on the road. The plan is simple, drive to Silver-Star, in hope of finding our selves on the white stuff.

Theres not much more to say then... Snow!

Justin and Flurina on snow

Within minutes of driving into the parking lot we were on our skis. Within seconds of standing on those skis, many of us had fallen to the ground, laughing. "These things are really long" was the general consensus. As we all know this awkward stage goes away quickly and soon we were all enjoying wonderfull skiing and making technical gains.

The trip passed by very quickly as everyone was really enjoying the skiing as well as the downtime together. There were many highlights of the week, including:

- Flurinas 17th Birthday with her very own Bob the Builder birthday cake.

- Micha turning out to be the funniest person alive

- Skiing for two hours in the morning, then going swimming in a frigid lake a few hours lator. (weve now learned what it feels like       to have muscles so cold you actually can't move)

- Attempting to 'pick up the ladies' at the local Safeway.

Swimming

We will let the pictures tell the rest of the story, Keep checking back throughout the winter for blog entries from each of the athletes on the team. See you in a few weeks when racing begins.

Camp Photos

We came, we saw we conquered, or for the purpose of this trip: We Came, we skied, we left.

Cheers
